Bhutan Women’s Rights Watch is currently monitoring and advocating for transparency in a matter involving a registered complaint against a sitting minister who oversees law enforcement.
When allegations involve an office that has oversight of investigative bodies, questions of perceived conflict of interest naturally arise. In such circumstances, it is essential that review processes are demonstrably independent, impartial, and supported by clear written reasoning.
The matter has also highlighted concerns about procedural delays and the impact of public commentary on individuals who come forward. Our focus remains on ensuring that institutional processes are conflict-free, timely, and respectful of dignity and due process.
